Seeking help with your mental health can be intimidating and maybe even a little scary – but it doesn’t have to be. Here at Every Rose Psychiatry, we are here to listen, understand, and work together toward the ultimate goal of getting you back to feeling like you. You will have questions – ask them! We’ll navigate every challenge as a team. We provide psychiatric medication management and holistic mental healthcare services for ages 4 through 65 primarily in the Greater Tampa Bay Area including Lutz, Land O Lakes, Wesley Chapel, and Carollwood – but spanning throughout the state of Florida. Our team here at Every Rose Psychiatry understands that every person is different, which means treatment that works for one person may not work for the next. This is why we are excited to announce that we are now offering SPRAVATO® (esketamine) nasal spray treatment. SPRAVATO® is FDA-approved and is used to help those with treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. We are also pleased to have the opportunity to begin offering TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) for treatment resistant depression. TMS is a non-invasive brain treatment that uses small magnetic pulses to help stimulate nerve cells. TMS primarily treats depression (although has increasing evidence for indications such anxiety, OCD, and substance use disorders) and is great for those who haven’t had much luck with traditional pharmacological treatment options (medications). Thank you for considering us to help you along your journey of life and please do not hesitate to reach out!
Our Lakeland page has 4 TMS listings at 3 addresses. Several sit in south Lakeland, on South Lakeland Drive and Lake Harris Drive, and one is downtown on East Lemon Street, a short walk from Lake Mirror. Because Lakeland sits between Tampa and Orlando on I-4, people often make the trip from Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Mulberry and Plant City.
On treatment day you settle into a reclining chair and the technician places the coil over the spot found at your first visit. You hear clicks and feel tapping on your scalp, and earplugs dull the sound. No sedation is used, so you can talk or listen to music. A regular session takes roughly half an hour, and you can drive right after.
Once the main course of about 36 sessions ends, many clinics taper you down over a few weeks. Some patients later return for maintenance or booster sessions if symptoms start to come back. Insurance rules for repeat courses vary, so keep your mood scores and treatment records. Your provider can tell you what signs to watch for between visits.
Showing up five times weekly for around six weeks is easier to plan around local patterns. Winter residents often start a course soon after arriving so they can finish before heading north. Polk Parkway and South Florida Avenue get busy in season. In summer, afternoon thunderstorms are common, so many patients book morning slots. Citrus Connection buses also reach downtown Lakeland.
Across Polk County, consult questions can include Depression, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar. TMS is FDA-cleared first and foremost for depression, notably when several medicines have failed to help. A Lakeland provider tells you if it fits after reviewing your full history.
Often yes, if you start early in the season. A course usually means weekday visits for six weeks. Ask how quickly the clinic can schedule your evaluation and whether your out-of-state plan or Medicare covers treatment in Florida.
Florida Medicaid managed care plans, Medicare, TRICARE and Florida Blue may approve TMS for patients who meet plan criteria. Coverage is not the same across plans, so request a benefits check from the clinic before scheduling treatment.
Most people feel normal right after a session and go about their day. Some feel tired or get a light headache early in the course. TMS uses no sedation, so you can drive yourself to and from appointments.
Missing a single day now and then is common, and clinics usually add the session at the end. Missing many days in a row can slow progress. Let the clinic know ahead of time if storms, travel or work get in the way.
