How can you plan TMS sessions in Chula Vista?

From the Bayfront to Eastlake

Chula Vista is home to four TMS clinic locations on our directory. Two are in west Chula Vista, one on H Street and one on Bay Boulevard near the bayfront and I-5. The other two are in the Eastlake area on Eastlake Parkway and Boswell Road. Patients come from National City, Bonita, Imperial Beach, Otay Ranch and San Ysidro.

Preparing for the Evaluation

Before any treatment, you meet with a provider for an evaluation. Expect questions about your mood, sleep, past medications and therapy, and any implants or metal near your head. A short questionnaire gives a baseline score. Bring a list of medications and dates you tried them. If TMS fits, you will review the schedule and the insurance steps together.

Staying Well After Treatment

Once the daily series of about 36 visits ends, your provider will talk with you about what comes next. Some people taper off with fewer weekly visits, and some come back for a short refresher series later if symptoms return. Keep up therapy and any medication your doctor prescribes, and ask the clinic how follow-up visits work.

Freeways, Trolley and Border Commutes

Most patients drive on I-5, I-805 or the SR 125 toll road, and the Blue Line trolley stops at H Street and E Street on the west side. If you cross the border for work or family, plan extra time for wait lines at San Ysidro or Otay Mesa. Sailors and families from Naval Base San Diego can ask about times that fit duty schedules.

Frequently asked questions - TMS clinics in Chula Vista

South Bay patients often ask about Depression, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar. TMS earned its main FDA clearance for depression that did not respond well to medicine. Fit is decided case by case at your evaluation visit with a provider.

Medi-Cal sometimes pays for TMS aimed at depression, depending on your plan. Medicare, TRICARE and private insurers such as Kaiser Permanente, Blue Shield of California, Anthem Blue Cross and Aetna might too. Confirm your coverage with the clinic before session one.

The Blue Line trolley serves west Chula Vista, which can work for offices near H Street and the bayfront. Eastlake offices are easier by car or bus. Check the MTS trip planner before your first visit, and find out which station is closest.

Most courses run Monday through Friday over six weeks or so, close to 36 sessions in all. A standard treatment fills 20 to 40 minutes, and theta-burst wraps up in a few minutes. Your clinic will share the full calendar at the start.

Scalp discomfort and mild headaches are the most common, and they usually fade once you are a week or so in. Some people feel tired after sessions. Seizures are rare. You can still drive yourself home afterward.
