FAQ

What is neuroregenerative therapy?+

Therapies that stimulate neuronal regrowth and are used to treat many different types of mood disorders and neuropathic chronic pain disorders. These treatments include Ketamine Infusion Therapy & Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a neuroregenerative therapy that, like Ketamine Infusion Therapy, stimulates neuronal regrowth and optimization. Rather than an IV medication as a catalyst, TMS uses electromagnetic stimulation, or a penetrating static electricity that elicits this neuroregenerative response.

There is a misconception that TMS is somehow related to ECT. This is not true. With TMS, you can drive yourself then leave and go about your day. It is completely outpatient, as is everything at our clinic, and there is no need for hospitalization.

Some people are concerned with the misinformation out there that TMS is related to ECT and that there are negative side effects like memory loss. This is not true. The most common side effect we see with TMS is a mild-headache which resolves very quickly. Another potential side effect that we have not experienced at our clinic is some scalp irritation.

A couple of different reasons. The machine we use is a MagStim, meaning we are able to use a specialized, computerized targeting system to guarantee perfect mapping at every single treatment. There is no cap, no drawing on your head, none of these things. This is a very technical and specialized type of device that is used in minimally invasive spine surgeries. We use that same technology to ensure your mapping is perfect every single time. We are also able to incorporate Ketamine Infusion Therapy into the patient’s TMS treatment process to optimize the global connectivity effects.
