Tyler Simmons – PA

Overview

Tyler Simmons is a dedicated Physician Assistant at Whole Mind, where he provides compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for adolescents and adults. He offers medication management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Spravato® (esketamine) treatments, specializing in ADHD, depression—including treatment-resistant cases—anxiety, and OCD.

Tyler earned both his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and his master’s degree as a Physician Assistant from Central Michigan University. Before entering psychiatry, he served in the U.S. Army as a Blackhawk mechanic and crew chief, experiences that shaped his resilience and deep empathy for others.

Tyler’s passion for mental health stems from his own personal journey as a survivor of childhood abuse. This perspective has given him a unique ability to connect with patients through authenticity and compassion. He believes that trust is built when patients feel truly heard—and that his role is not to tell patients what to do, but to help them make informed, empowered decisions about their care.

Outside of his work at Whole Mind, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, traveling, exercising, and watching anime. His philosophy of care reflects both his professional expertise and his personal values: humility, openness, and the belief that healing begins with understanding.
