Overview
Theresa Ipolito, who prefers Tess, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who brings a holistic and integrative approach to supporting adolescents, young adults, and families through life’s transitions and challenges. Originally from New York, Tess has spent years dedicated to environmental and social justice work globally, and she draws on this broad perspective to inform her compassionate, client-centered approach.
Tess has extensive experience working with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, attachment issues, family and relationship dynamics, disordered eating and body image, sexual health and fulfillment, oppositional defiant disorder, chronic stress, and chronic illness. She also works with clients exploring personal growth, spirituality, sexuality, and identity, including LGBTQIA+ individuals. Tess is trained in psychedelic and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, supporting clients who seek integrative approaches to healing and self-discovery.
Her therapeutic style is eclectic, drawing from evidence-based and experiential modalities to meet each client where they are. Tess incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, somatic therapies, narrative therapy, expressive arts therapy, family systems, emotion-focused therapy, and The Gottman Method, among others. She works collaboratively with clients to identify strengths, navigate challenges, and create meaningful, sustainable changes in their lives.
Tess believes that challenge is a vital part of growth, and she approaches her work as a guide for clients navigating new and sometimes difficult terrain. She emphasizes authenticity and presence, helping clients develop the tools to show up fully in their lives, build resilience, and cultivate well-being.
