Kathryn Dowden, PMHNP-BC, CIMHP
Overview
Kathryn Dowden, who prefers to be called Kate, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who brings 17 years of bedside nursing experience to her work in holistic mental health care. She provides evidence-based psychiatric treatment for adults ages 18–55, with a clinical focus on trauma, anxiety, depression, and psychedelic integration.
Kate has participated in federally approved psychedelic research and offers ketamine-assisted therapy in settings designed for safety, preparation, and integration. She is also deeply committed to harm reduction, supporting individuals who have experienced challenging or adverse psychedelic experiences with compassion and clinical expertise.
Additionally, as a Certified Integrative Mental Health Practitioner (CIMHP), Kate blends conventional psychiatric care with integrative modalities including medication management, nutritional psychiatry, targeted herbal medicine, and lifestyle counseling. Her somatic, person-centered approach aims to align mind, body, and environment by helping each person create sustainable, meaningful change. Kate welcomes patients who value a collaborative, whole-person approach and are curious about combining traditional and integrative paths to mental wellness.
Outside the clinic, Kate finds balance in nature through hiking with her small dog, tending her medicinal herb garden, and feeding backyard birds. She’s also passionate about strength training, cooking healthy (and delicious) meals, and singing wherever the acoustics feel right.
