Overview

Cheri Mills is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma-informed therapist dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s most challenging experiences. She creates a safe, empowering space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported as they navigate complex mental health concerns, trauma, and personal growth. Cheri believes her clients are the experts in their own lives and works collaboratively to help them uncover their strengths, build resilience, and find their voice.

Cheri earned her Doctor of Social Work from Capella University, her Master of Social Work from Gallaudet University, and her Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Studies from Utah Valley University. She has extensive experience working with individuals facing substance use issues, childhood trauma, domestic and sexual violence, PTSD, TBIs, and other mental health challenges, including supporting Veterans.

Her holistic approach integrates a variety of evidence-based and experiential modalities, tailored to meet clients where they are in their journey of healing. These approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), mindfulness-based practices, motivational interviewing, somatic release, and experiential therapy. Cheri also provides ketamine-assisted therapy and integration therapy for those seeking adjunctive treatment options.

Cheri emphasizes the importance of building a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship. She supports clients in exploring difficult emotions, processing trauma, navigating relationships, and fostering self-esteem and empowerment. Her work spans a wide range of specialties including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, family and marital challenges, grief, social anxiety, women’s issues, and spirituality.
