Overview

Dr. Andrew Kuhle has always been the friend that people have been able to turn to and consider a good listener. He loves hearing people’s stories. While initially interested in psychology- and receiving his undergraduate degree in it- he initially resisted the inclination to go into psychiatry during medical school. However, during his clinical rotations, his psychiatry rotation was the one that left him feeling the most excited, engaged, and “alive”. He recognized this was his calling and continues to feel humbled and grateful for his work with patients.

Dr. Andrew Kuhle is very collaborative and views the patient/doctor relationship as a partnership. He is interested in getting to know his patient beyond just their symptoms. He wants to understand their background and their values. During the first appointment, he will spend time learning about childhood history, relationships, strengths, weaknesses, passions and interests, and short-term and long-term lifetime goals, all of which influence not just his diagnosis but also treatment goals. He highly values honesty and is straightforward about the pros and cons of any treatment. He wants his patients to feel confident that they have enough information to decide their treatment course.

While being very positive about medications and psychopharmacology, he recognizes for many patients, antidepressants may not be enough to improve overall well-being. He is pleased to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and esketamine nasal spray in this practice and as part of his arsenal of treatments. He considers both to be cutting-edge treatments that show great promise in helping patients find relief and recovery.
