Meet Ms. Alexis Yero, M.S., CCC-SLP

Prior to her career as a Speech and Language Pathologist, Alexis Yero received a Bachelor of Psychology, with afo cus on Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), from Nova Southeastern University.

Alexis worked along-side Dr. Fabian Redler, who trained her to provide cutting edge cognitive interventions, targeting skills including various types of attention, working memory, visual and auditory processing, processing speed, spatial reasoning, and much more. Her experience as a “cognitive skills trainer” prompted her to pursue advanced graduate training in the area of Communication Science and Disorders. 

Alexis graduated with a Master’s of Science in Speech and Language Pathology from Florida International University, and is now an active, licensed, and certified Speech and Language Pathologist.

She continues to pursue multiple publications of her graduate Thesis, focusing on cognition in the geriatric population. Alexis is an active researcher in the field of Speech and Language Pathology. She has presented her research findings at numerous professional conferences across the nation. 

​Prior to launching Brain Gains Therapy Solutions, Alexis provided contract services in Public and Private schools. She has experience in outpatient, skilled nursing, private practice, and home-health settings, in both Colorado and Florida. 

​Alexis works as an Advocate for children and families navigating the Special Education system. She is passionate about patient education and helping her clients to reach their developmental and rehabilitative goals. Alexis is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of each family that she works with. 

​Alexis maintains a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and holds licenses to practice Speech Language Pathology in Colorado, Washington, and Florida.

​Alexis was honored with The ASHA ACE Award in December of 2020.

​The ASHA ACE award is a formal recognition of professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to lifelong learning by earning 7.0 ASHA continuing education units (CEUs) (equivalent to 70 contact hours) within a 36-month period of certification.
