MIU Center provides medication management for treatment of behavioral health disorders. MIU Center’s Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of depression.
Munachim I. Uyanwune MD, MBA is a board-certified psychiatrist. She holds dual degrees from the University of Connecticut, including a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in French. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Uyanwune obtained a combined M.D., M.B.A degree after receiving a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut School of Business, while enrolled at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Uyanwune completed her Psychiatry residency training at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program. After her training, Dr. Uyanwune practiced at Sheppard Pratt Hospital for several years. She also worked in private practice where she served in an executive role as chief medical officer, in addition to community mental health.
